Today marked our last long weekend of rehearsals with the 2008 cast of Capella. Wow. Looking back, it seems like yesterday that we were holding auditions.
This group has worked so hard, and come so far, this season. It is kind of sad to know that we only have two weeks left, with SCGC Championships this next weekend, and then World Championships, the week after that.
It was hard to watch, knowing that this is the last time that this group of performers will be together, as an ensemble.
I hope that they know how lucky they are to have each other, for this short time, in their lives. Good luck to them all, as they complete their season. Well done Capella. We made it.
"If there were ever a time to dare, to make a difference, to embark on something worth doing, it is now. Not for any grand cause, necessarily, but for something that tugs at your heart, something that's your aspiration, something that's your dream. You owe it to yourself to make your days here count. Have fun. Dig deep. Stretch. Dream big."- Mac
Despite the horrible weather, and long journey, Capella made it to Atlanta and had a great time!
Congratulations to the members for a job well done! I could not be any more proud of you all. I am looking forward to SCGC Championships and Worlds.
Some of the highlights of the weekend, for me, were:
Harrison HS - What an adorable show. The girls were dressed as tubes of paint and the floor was an artist's pallet. They had a huge paint can on the corner of the floor and a soloist, dressed as the artist. Well done!
Phantom Regiment - It was great to see Adam Sage and our friends from Regiment. Their show has changed quite a bit since we saw them in Nashville. Gorgeous new flags and butterfly wings. Beautiful. Loved it!!
The best part of the weekend was spending it with my gang. You guys are the best. I had so many people stop me and tell me how gorgeous your show is, and what a great job you did. You should be extremely proud of all that you have accomplished. You are a class act.
Get some rest...we are in the home stretch.
1. Oh, Big Brother! You have sucked me back in again. Three shows per week plus a nightly, three hour Showtime LIVE BB After Dark show. My tivo is smoking.
2. Little David Archuletta is still my favorite Idol. I don't care if he DID forget the words.
3. Watched a PPV movie this week - August Rush. I have not cried that much in a LONG time. Brilliant!
4. Celebrity Fit Club and Screech are back. Let the screaming begin!!
5. Top Chef has returned for another season in CHICAGO! Yay!
6. I have an addiction to the OC. I bought the first season for Sara, for Christmas, and after borrowing it from her, have been watching the seasons, back to back, ever since. I just finished season 3. Even Larry has been glued to the set. Whodathunkit?
What is in a name? Usually, a horrid middle name, given by your parents to honor one of your relatives. I, however, lucked out with the most common middle name ever, Ann.
My namesake, Emily Ann Anderson, and I have more than just our first and second names in common. My grandfather, Winfield Wagner, was adopted by the Wagners. His real name was Anderson. We could be distantly related! After all, my grandfather's nickname was "Tennessee".
So, in honor of Middle Name Pride Day, wear the name your momma gave ya, with pride, all you Hortenses, Sybils, and Waloolahs.
1. American Idol - David Archuletta singing Phil Collins? Lovely. The panel gave him some criticisms in order to make the other contestants feel like they have a chance.
2. Big Brother – Allison is evicted, but Ryan gets to stay. Doh!
3. Survivor – Drop your buffs.
4. Project Runway – Fierce.
5. RW/RR - Shame on you, Coral.
6. Rock of Love - Oh, say can you sing?
7. ANTM - Lots of skinny girls in New York...that's a shocker.
