A New Beginning

I will be updating periodically, on all of the happenings "off the floor" with the Capella Winterguard. Where to start? Well, I spent a week with the Cordova High School band at camp in Booneville, Mississippi. A bustling metropolis, I must say. Sara, Heath and Drew are all on staff with Cordova, and I basically was the cruise director. All of the Cordova guard girls were there, and we really had a great time. Visit their website at http://www.cadetsofcordova.org/ and look at the band camp pics.

Drew is the Visual Caption Head at Memphis Sound Drum & Bugle Corps, Sara and Heath are Colorguard Techs. Drew is currently back on tour, while Sara and Heath were there for a few weeks, helping write the colorguard's show. They have all been traveling quite alot, between the Sound and Cordova camps. During band camp, we took the kids to the Tupelo DCI show and were able to "get our corps on". Memphis' show is wonderful and it was great to see what they have been working so hard on, all summer. They are currently in first place in their division, so we certainly wish them luck and safe travels to California. The Bluecoats performed and we were all cheering for our own, Jana Pate. Their show is fantastic!! Can you say, silent flag feature? We saw our Emily "Shrimp" Mowers there, and the love fest began. It was great to see her. Holla! to our Jennifer Cooper who is on tour with Colts this summer. I watched them on the webcast from Atlanta and they were wonderful! Good luck and much love to our DCI gals!

I have been working on paperwork and planning for our upcoming season. I have already received an overwhelming response from new potential members. I cannot wait until auditions! I hope everyone is having a great summer and I can't wait to meet our new friends, and see my girls, all together again. Keep spinning and I will see you all soon!

Love to all. M. Abe
